This has been my hardest newsletter that I wrote so far. Last week one of my suppliers sent me a link on You Tube. It is a video called “A Fat Rant.” I really liked it and wanted to share it with you. Since I have opened Ravishing Clothing I have become more comfortable with my body. I hated showing my upper arms and would have never worn anything that was too short in the sleeves. I still get a little self-conscious but I am so much better than I was 6 months ago. I know some of my customers are also getting the same courage that is developing in me. I have been working on this newsletter for about 2 weeks now and get nervous every time I start to write. I HATE scales! In the video Joy talks about weight being only a number. She weights 224 lbs. If she can have the courage to tell the world her weight than I have to find the courage to tell you my weight. I weight 220 lbs. You know what? It is just a number. The world has not stopped, I just talked to my boyfriend and he still loves me, I am still successful in my career and I will not be brain washed into being told to lose weight. Baby Phat is now here and is amazing. A shipment came in yesterday and the colors are plum and pink. I also have swimsuits and shorts. There is so much color in the store right now! I cannot wait till summer. Anonymous has also sent me tunics and tops. I have green, yellow, orange and blue tops. I also have anklets now too. Anklets that will actually fit women’s ankles! I am so excited about this month. I have spoken to a new supplier and in the next two weeks Not Your Daughters Jeans will be arriving.
